From Books to The Right Buzz: How One Passion Became a Platform for Extraordinary Stories

The Right Buzz: A Journey Built on Passion, Connections, and the Power of Storytelling

Every great platform begins with a passion, and the story behind The Right Buzz started long before the magazine and podcast existed.

The journey began with a love for writing. After starting to write books, the next step was connecting with authors and learning more about their experiences, creative processes, and personal journeys. Those conversations inspired a bigger idea, creating opportunities for people to share their stories and connect with others.

In 2015, that passion developed into something new when author interviews began through Facebook Live. These early conversations opened the door to discovering the power of interviewing and storytelling, giving talented individuals a platform to share their work and inspire audiences.

From there, the journey continued with the creation of Talk About It Friday, a podcast launched alongside partner Nicole Glozier. Together, they created a space dedicated to meaningful conversations, personal stories, and discussions that connected with listeners. We never charged anyone during that time.

During the COVID lockdown, Talk About It Friday experienced a major period of growth. At a time when people were searching for connection and positivity, the podcast became a place where inspiring conversations could continue, bringing together incredible guests and building a growing community.

It was during this time that an important connection was made with Richard S. Barnett, who helped open the door to the worlds of television, film, and music. Through these relationships, new opportunities began to emerge, allowing Talk About It Friday to reach guests and personalities from across the entertainment industry. That is when Talk About It Friday became The Right Buzz Podcast.

The journey continued through meeting Andy J. Ross and Steve Harris from Starlight Broadcasting, who introduced us to Andre L. Pittmon. These connections helped create opportunities to speak with some truly remarkable people, including influential figures from the Motown legacy and the wider music industry.

Among the incredible guests and artists interviewed were members of The Former Ladies of The Supremes, The Manhattans, Motown’s first A&R executive Mickey Stevenson, renowned songwriter and producer Preston Glass, Lettrice Lawrence, and Pat Hodges from Hodges, James and Smith.

Each conversation became a celebration of history, talent, resilience, and creativity. These interviews highlighted not only the achievements of these individuals but also the personal stories, challenges, and experiences behind their success.

From those foundations, The Right Buzz was born — expanding the vision beyond podcasting into a platform dedicated to sharing inspiring stories through magazine features, interviews, and creative content.

What started with writing books, connecting with authors, and having conversations on Facebook Live grew into a community that celebrates people from all walks of life.

The Right Buzz represents the next chapter of that journey: a place where creators, entrepreneurs, artists, and inspiring individuals can share their voices and make an impact. The hard work, dedication, and commitment to celebrating inspiring people were recognised when The Right Buzz received the 2023 Honours Award from Enthron Records Ent. This achievement was a proud moment, representing the impact of the platform and the incredible connections built through years of storytelling, interviews, and supporting talented individuals.
